Scope and Contents

Collection is mostly genealogical notes and copies of wills compiled by Thomas Jefferson Stubbs, but includes report cards, class notes (notebooks for Economics Theory, Finance, German and Politics) and speeches of Stubbs while a student at the College of William and Mary; four manuscript notebooks of T.J. Stubbs to record grades at Bellevue High School (1902-1914); letter certifying that T.J. Stubbs as a member of Alpha Lambda Chapter can represent the chapter at the Biennial Convention in Richmodn (1901); letters of William Carter Stubbs while a student at William and Mary; letters of John Catlett Stubbs while studying medicine in Charlottesville and Baltimore and two class notebooks of Lucy T. C. Stubbs of Williamsburg.

The collection also includes bills and receipts of people who lived in Gloucester County, Virginia, pamphlets by the Presbyterian Publishing Company in Richmond, Virginia and partial textbooks for Latin and French.

Appointment for T. Jefferson Stubbs as the Commandant of 21st Regiment by Alexr G. Taliaferro.  October 1846.  Notation on bottom of appointment, "The 'T. Jefferson' in this appointment should be Jeff...T.J. Stubbs, Sr.."
