Chiefly office files and personal correspondence, 1918-1950, of S. O. Bland while serving as member of U. S. Congress from First Virginia District. Collection includes family papers, invitations, photographs and newspaper clippings. Subjects include League of Nations and Prohibition.

Unprocessed material includes photographs, correspondence, legal material, manuscripts, ledgers, personal and business accounts, beginning in 1800.  Some material from the Gloucester and Southampton, Virginia area.  Not all of the material is clearly identifiable as concerning the Bland Family.
