Letter, 1841 May 27, of I. de Courcy Laffan, Norfolk, [Va.] to [Thomas Ritchie, Richmond, Va.]. Laffan thanks Ritchie for introduction to "Brandon," Prince George Co., Va. and for hospitality of his daughter, Isabella H. (Ritchie) Harrison. Describes his inquiry into the living conditions of the slaves at Brandon which he found humane. He lists evils of slavery. 4 p. ; 18 cm.<p>
