Robert Anderson Bright, son of Samuel and Elianna Maria Jerdone Southall was born in Williamsburg in March 1839. He attended the College of William Mary in 1854-1855, and graduated from the University of Virginia in 1857.
Robert Anderson Bright was a planter who served in the Confederate Army, and after the war continued to support legislation in opposition to the rights and suffrage of former slaves.
He was born in Williamsburg, Virginia. Staff officer with General George E. Pickett. Served until Appomattox. Post-War farmer in Williamsburg where he died and was buried in Cedar Grove Cemetery.
