William Jesse Duckwall was from Clark County, Illinois and was part of an early wagon train, the Duckwall-Trahern or Cherokee train, that travelled the Walker River Trail to Sonora, California in 1852. Per http://www.findagrave.com/ he was the son of Rev. Lewis Duckwall (1778-1832) and he and his parents were born in Virginia.
