Historical Note
Augustus R. Wright was born 1813 in Georgia. He was a lawyer who served as a judge, as a congressman in the U.S. House of Representatives, as a delegate to the Georgia Secession Convention and the Confederate Secession Convention, in the First Confederate Congress, as a Colonel in the 38th Georgia Infantry during the Civil War and as a member of the Georgia constitutional convention in 1877.
